We’ll Help You Navigate Payment Options

Home care is typically not covered by private health insurance or Medicare. Because of this, home care is either funded by private pay, Medicaid, or long-term care insurance. Here is information about each of these options:

01

Private Pay

We accept all major credit cards for clients paying directly for caregiving services. We bill weekly for our caregiving services.

02

Medicaid

Staying at home is an option preferred by most older adults. Fortunately, Connecticut has a state-run program called Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders (CHCPE), designed for older adults at risk of nursing home placement. The Department of Social Services, Alternative Care Unit administers the program with these eligibility requirements:

1. 65 years of age or older;
2. Connecticut resident;
3. Be at risk for entering a nursing home.

If your income and assets fall within the approved limits, you may be eligible for CHCPE services. An individual needs to calculate gross monthly income to determine if you qualify for CHCPE services. Your spouse's income is not considered in the calculation of gross monthly income.

Since the program can be a bit complex to navigate, please reach out to us for any questions you may have.

03

Long-Term Care Insurance

Long-term care insurance refers to a type of insurance that covers the costs of extended care services. These extended care services include assistance with activities of daily living. If you have long-term care insurance, you may be eligible for benefits if unable to perform specific tasks, or if you have dementia or other cognitive impairments.

While our services are generally approved by most long-term care insurance plans, we cannot guarantee the extent to which any particular plan will cover them.
